Below Zero Biomes

The vast, ice-capped starting biome of Below Zero. Sparsely populated but rich in basic resources. Robin's drop pod lands here, making it the first environment players explore.

0m – 100m

A shallow biome dominated by spiraling, twisted coral formations creating natural bridges and archways. One of the most visually distinctive biomes in Below Zero.

0m – 200m

The deeper, darker extension of the Twisty Bridges. The coral formations grow denser and more dangerous creatures patrol here, including the Spire Eel and Squidshark.

150m – 300m

A cold-water equivalent of the Kelp Forest, dominated by tall, dark kelp fronds in near-freezing water. Home to Sea Monkeys, Pengwings, and the Brute Shark.

0m – 150m

A unique mid-depth biome where enormous floating lilypad structures support surface-like ecosystems. Sea Monkeys, Titan Holefish, and the lurking Cryptosuchus inhabit this biome.

100m – 400m

The underwater layer beneath the Lilypad Islands where the giant lilypad roots descend into darkness. Chelicerate territory — extremely dangerous for unprepared explorers.

300m – 500m

A mid-depth biome characterised by towering hydrothermal spire formations. Rich in heat-based resources and home to the Spire Eel. The extreme temperature gradients make navigation challenging.

200m – 600m

A dramatic mid-deep biome filled with enormous tree-like mineral formations that rise from the seabed. Rich in rare minerals and home to the graceful Feather Fish and Titan Holefish.

400m – 700m

A deep biome dominated by purple hydrothermal vents releasing mineral-rich plumes. One of the best sources of rare resources in Below Zero, but heavily patrolled by the Brute Shark and Symbiotes.

300m – 700m

A harsh, vertically dramatic biome of towering rock spires extending from the seabed. Home to the Chelicerate and Snow Stalkers on its surface regions. Key location for late-game progression.

200m – 500m

A breathtaking deep biome filled with enormous crystalline formations and the Shadow Leviathan. Extremely dangerous but rich in unique resources including Kyanite and Crystal Sulfur.

600m – 900m

The deepest accessible biome in Below Zero, located below the Crystal Caves. Contains the Alien Fabricator and the most valuable endgame resources. Shadow Leviathans patrol here.

800m – 1200m

A land-based biome on the surface of Planet 4546B — a frozen glacier basin populated by Snow Stalkers, Pengwings, and the terrifying Ice Worm. Requires the Snowfox for safe traversal.
