Ghost Leviathans are believed to be the juvenile form of an even larger organism. Three adults roam the Dead Zone beyond the map boundaries, and a large population inhabits the Lost River's tree-like structures.

Survival Tips
- 1Ghost Leviathans in the Lost River are juveniles (~107m) — smaller and slightly less aggressive than the three adults in the Dead Zone beyond the map edge.
- 2The Cyclops is far safer than the Seamoth in Ghost Leviathan territory — it has a much larger health pool and the Silent Running mode can cause the Ghost to disengage.
- 3Activating Cyclops Silent Running + turning off all lights reduces the chance a Ghost Leviathan will notice you. Move slowly through the Lost River passages.
- 4Ghost Leviathans can be temporarily stunned with the Stasis Rifle for a quick escape window.
- 5In the Grand Reef, a juvenile Ghost patrols the deeper sections (~250–400m). It tends to keep to open water — hug the reef terrain to reduce exposure.
